He authored the book Reasoning: The Neuroscience of How We Think, a comprehensive guide to reasoning research and best practices. His research has focused on understanding reasoning and decision making through a multi-disciplinary approach combining brain imaging and cognitive psychology. He holds a PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles and was a research fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
