About the Author

Geraldine Bowman Holmes was born in Lumpkin, Georgia. When she was fourteen years old, her mother moved them to Beaufort, South Carolina, where a better life awaited them. She attended three years at Robert Smalls High School. Following her mother's death, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Dorchester High School. She was educated at Kennesaw State University and graduated in 2011 at the age of sixty-three with a bachelor's degree in social work. When not writing, she enjoys playing her guitar, painting, gardening, and fishing. She now resides in Marietta, Georgia, with her wife and four adult children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
