Recognized during the 1960s as one of the most daring and successful young drivers on the Southwest drag racing circuit. In addition to his driving skills, the 'Grandfather of the Funny Car' made drag racing history by being instrumental in designing and engineering the first altered wheel base models that were used in the factory Match Race Wars between Chevy, Ford and Chrysler. These efforts helped Grady to achiever several World Records in the American Hot Rod Association, National Hot Rod Association, Driver of the Year, and Diversion Four Championship, and one of the first Alcohol Funny Cars to receive corporated sponsorship. Grady lives in Hurst, Texas wih his wife Jan.
