GUSTAV SCHWAB (1792-1850) was a German writer, educator, pastor, and publisher. Born in Stuttgart, he studied philology, philosophy, and theology at the University of T bingen. Schwab's collection of myths and legends of classical antiquity was published in 1838 and was widely used in German schools.
