About author(s):Dr. Richard Fenker, PhD Richard Fenker, PhD is an Emeritus Professor of Psychology at TCU, inventor, writer, artist and forecaster. He is the Co-chair of the Technology Committee for the Dementia Action Alliance and author of more than 500 published articles and technical briefs, a dozen books and many papers in an dozen disciplines ranging from astronomy and mathematics to human consciousness, sport psychology and retail forecasting. His interest in Alzheimer's disease stems from his experiences with family members and friends and his background in the study of human consciousness. His three books on learning, all emphasize the importance of using left and right-brain consciousness for studying. He has thought for many years that part of the isolation experienced by Alzheimer's patients comes from our general lack of understanding of the different layers of human consciousness and the role they play in communication.
